Greater Helena Gives
HACF hosts Greater Helena Gives, a 24-hour online fundraiser to support the nonprofits around Helena. Anyone can easily make a donation to the nonprofit(s) of their choice from a single website. The nonprofits who participate are also selected to receive monetary prizes throughout the 24-period.
Spirit of Philanthropy
Steve Browning was one of the founding members of the Helena Area Community Foundation, and was well known for his generosity in time, talent, and money in supporting non-profits in Helena. In 2015, HACF introduced the Steve Browning “Spirit of Philanthropy” award given to community members who carry on Steve’s commitment to make the Helena Area a great place to live, work, play and raise a family.

Collective Capacity Cohort
In October 2025, the City of Helena approved funding for the Helena Area Community Foundation (HACF) to launch the Collective Capacity Cohort: Unhoused Helena—a new initiative designed to support and strengthen the nonprofits already serving our unhoused neighbors.
